KATHLEEN CURRIE
We are proud to welcome, back Miss Kathleen for her tenth year as our Theatre/Acting/Voice teacher. Kathleen, a graduate of William, Paterson University with a BA in Dramatic Arts, is instructing students on all levels on Monday evenings and Saturday afternoons in Flemington. Miss Kathleen boasts many students now doing professional work on television, in film and on Broadway. (See Hall of Fame)
Kathleen has over twenty years' experience in voice and theatre. Her voice training includes Anna Daube Freund of the Julliard School, Manhattan. She has recently re-entered the professional arena and has filmed national commercials as well as industrials and film, and print work in the New York City market. She landed the role of Celia and recently performed in the world premier of "Cougar the Musical" at the York Theatre in NYC. She continues to keep abreast of the new and changing trends in the industry by training for film and TV and live stage comedic improvisation with prestigious and well-known acting teachers and at Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB) in New York.
Miss Kathleen's theatrical repertoire includes HMS Pinafore, Cinderella, Funny Girl, Cabaret, George M., West Side Story, Dark of the Moon, Little Mary Sunshine, Man of LaMancha, Jesus Christ Superstar, She Loves Me, Anything Goes, Riders to the Sea, Bed Time Story, Into the Woods, Wizard of Oz, Damn Yankees, Godspell, Sweeney Todd, Guys and Dolls to name a few. She performed off-Broadway in the award, winning original musical, "Tobit" and in "Going On" and at the Kennedy Center, Washington. D.C.
She founded and presently directs the Flemington-Raritan Community Theatre, now in its 10th year, having directed Godspell, Man of LaMancha, The Wizard of Oz, Into the Woods, Damn Yankees and Guys and Dolls, Sweeney Todd, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Grease, LesMiserables, and numerous workshops and talent shows.
Miss Kathleen lives in Raritan Township.
